csasBrentwood Borough Council will be helping to reduce crime and disorder after joining the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).

The scheme is a nationally accredited initiative promoted by the Home Office and National Police Chief’s Council which accredits staff of organisations with limited policing powers to help keep the Borough safer. The aim is that organisations whose staff contribute to community safety will be given the tools to undertake their roles more effectively. By giving these targeted powers, an accredited person is better equipped to deal with issues such as anti-social behaviour, disorder and nuisance, with the potential to address certain issues on the spot without the involvement of police.
